Philosophy

Each of our bag has a story to tell. A story on how it is made, what materials have been used for it, who has made it and how the price of the bag is built up. When purchasing a bag, we want you to make a conscious choice. Therefore we are giving our customers as much information as possible about the products.

Conscious and sustainable use of materials

We take pride in the bags we make and have a great respect for the materials we use. Therefore we make sure we make use of the most of it. Our designs are crafted to minimize the cutting leftovers. The larger cutting leftovers are used for creating smaller accessories (purses, wristbands and keychains), and the really tiny bits and pieces gain a new life in our own workshops or are given away as charity to craft clubs. At the moment we produce 2-4% material leftover. Our goal is to reach zero waste in production.

Round 2

The bag designs follow a sustainable design concept Round 2, that we have developed in-house. Within the cutting patterns, we have fitted a number of smaller product patterns that the original product can be redesigned into. Therefore you don’t see any decorative details on our products since it enables us to reuse the material to the maximum.

We want you to return the bag to us if your bag gets spoiled or you do not have use for it anymore. To make it easier for you to return the bags you have used up (after long and loving care, of course), we offer a credit for your next purchase. The credit amount depends on the state of the bag. So it pays to take good care of your bag.

Price transparency for raw honesty

A handmade leather bag is an investment. When buying a bag you should know why it costs what it costs. To illustrate this, we are disclosing full information on this - from direct production to overhead and markup. We hope this helps you make a more conscious choice.

Who made your bag?

All our bags are marked with the name(s) of the artisan(s) who made it. Once you receive the bag, look inside it to discover who has made it.

2020 Circular Fashion System Commitment

At Copenhagen Fashion Summit 2017, Global Fashion Agenda called on fashion brands and retailers to sign a 2020 Circular Fashion System Commitment to accelerate the transition to a circular fashion system.

We joined in with the following targets:

- Action point 1: Implementing design strategies for cyclability.

By 2020, circular design principles will be applied to 100% of our leather bags in order to remanufacture them after their first life.

- Action point 2: Increasing the volume of used garments collected.

By 2020, we will implement a garment collection scheme for used leather bags in our retail stores and online.
